Sometimes also known as dupion silk the fabric is a shimmering silk that is created by weaving silk threads of two different colors into a weave that seems to change colors as the silk is moved around in different lights. Constructed with threads made from rough silk fibers Dupioni Silk has a stubbled surface derived from its natural fibers which lends, in addition to its shimmering colors, a dramatic textured effect. The fabric is crisp to the touch, resists wrinkling and makes great luxurious drapes.
